Coaches need supervision. Increasingly, corporate
clients make evidence of regular supervision part of their
quality assurance processes.
A supervisor is a more experienced coach who
- Works with you to benchmark your practice against ‘best
in field’
- Can work through ethical dilemmas with you
- Supports you through difficulties - for instance with
clients where you feel you are at the edge of your competence
- Can coach you on your own life and career issues.
Supervision may be especially useful for
- New coaches still in the process of building their skills
- Therapists beginning to establish a coaching practice
- Sole practitioners without colleagues with whom to discuss
the trickier issues that coaching can raise
A year-long contract for supervision includes
five one hour face-to-face or telephone sessions with access
by email or phone between sessions.
